Accrued Revenue

Accrued revenue is income that has been earned by the business but not yet received in cash or billed to the customer.

It arises under the accrual basis of accounting, which records income when it is earned.

Examples:

Interest earned but not yet received

Services provided but invoice not yet issued

Commission earned but not collected

Accrued revenue is shown as a current asset in the balance sheet.

In simple terms, accrued revenue is income earned but not yet received or invoiced.
